The Recess Restroom Riddle

The Recess Restroom Riddle

Once upon a breezy recess day, five 4th grade boys gathered in the sanctuary of the school’s bathroom for their daily rendezvous. Eager to share the latest jokes and riddles, they huddled around the sink, their laughter echoing off the tiled walls.

“Hey guys, I’ve got a riddle for you,” exclaimed Tommy, the unofficial leader of the group. “What has keys but can’t open locks?”

The boys exchanged puzzled looks, scratching their heads in contemplation. After a moment of silence, Billy, the class clown, burst out with excitement, “A piano!”

The group erupted into laughter, slapping high-fives and congratulating Billy on his quick wit. But before the laughter subsided, Jimmy, the quiet one, piped up with his own riddle.

“What has a head and a tail, but no body?” he asked, a mischievous twinkle in his eye.

The boys furrowed their brows, pondering the riddle’s solution. After a few failed attempts, Timmy, the bookworm of the group, exclaimed, “A coin!”

Jimmy grinned in satisfaction as his friends applauded his cleverness. Not to be outdone, Bobby, the sports enthusiast, eagerly chimed in with his contribution.

“What has a neck but no head?” he challenged, a grin spreading across his face.

The boys scratched their heads, stumped by Bobby’s riddle. After a few moments of intense deliberation, Danny, the joker of the group, exclaimed, “A bottle!”

Bobby nodded in approval as his friends cheered, impressed by his cunning riddle. As the laughter died down, the boys glanced at the clock, realizing that recess was almost over. Reluctantly, they bid farewell to their secret sanctuary, promising to reconvene the next day for another round of riddles and laughter. And with that, they dashed out of the bathroom, ready to conquer the rest of the school day with their newfound wit and camaraderie.
