After an hour of gathering up his courage, he finally goes over to her and asks, “Um, excuse me, but do you mind if I sit here?”
The woman looks up from her drink, smiles, and says, “Sure, why not?”
Encouraged by her response, the shy guy starts a conversation. They talk for hours, laughing and enjoying each other’s company. Finally, as the night draws to a close, the guy musters all his courage and asks, “Would you maybe… like to go out with me sometime?”
The woman looks at him warmly and replies, “Of course, I’d love to.”
Delighted, the shy guy goes home feeling like the luckiest man alive. The next day, he wakes up and realizes something. He forgot to ask for her phone number. So, he returns to the pub, but she’s not there.
Disheartened, he asks the bartender, “Do you know where the girl I was talking to last night went?”
The bartender chuckles and replies, “Oh, her? She left a note for you.”
The shy guy’s heart skips a beat as he eagerly takes the note and reads it. It says, “Sorry, I’m taken. Happy Valentine’s Day though!
