Why is the Last of Us Multiplayer taking so long? Well, judging by everything Naughty Dog is saying, this can be one of its biggest ever projects. a piece of concept art was released as a part of Summer Game Fest, with more news to follow next year. Speaking with Geoff Keighley, co-president Neil Druckmann reiterated multiple times just how ambitious this project is.
“We can finally announce that we’re creating something a lot larger than a mode,” senior communications manager Rochelle Snyder wrote on the ps blog. “We’re thrilled to share a piece of concept art from our future multiplayer experience, which is an extremely ambitious enterprise. We’re growing our studio significantly to ensure we build this full-scale, standalone game, with its massive scope and the large world, in an exceedingly experience that fans have come to expect from The Last of Us and Naughty Dog.”
The game appears to be set in the port of entry and will feature a full story. this can be undoubtedly one of Sony’s live service projects and looks to be a multiplayer game on a completely new scale. “We aim to make our newest entry into multiplayer tantalizing to new players while still a thrilling challenge for more of our seasoned fans. there'll be more news to come back next year, and we cannot wait to introduce you to the team behind this new experience.Druckmann said it'll be "as big of as any of the single-player games that we've done, and in some ways bigger." it's its own story and a new forged of characters, along with a contemporary setting. It's led by a team of Naughty Dog veterans who have worked on the series yet because of the uncharted games. more details will be announced next year.
It also emerged that Johnson and Baker, the UN agency who played Ellie and Joel within the games, will appear in the show, but their roles haven't been revealed as yet. picture taking will wrap on the first season tomorrow. while the series is expected to arrive next year, Druckmann aforementioned that fans can hear more about it "very soon."
