A few performers who joined the recognition were Blink-182's Travis Barker, The Darkness' Rufus Tiger Taylor, Wolfgang Van Halen and Foo Fighters frontman Dave Grohl's girl Violet.

The recognition opened with previous Oasis frontman Liam Gallagher playing out his band's "Rowdy 'Star" and "Live Forever," upheld by the Foo Fighters with Grohl on drums, Pat Smear and Chris Shiflett on guitar and Nate Mendel on bass.

Afterward, Grohl was seen breaking into tears as the vocalist performed "Circumstances such as These."

Hawkins kicked the bucket in Bogota, Colombia, on March 25 because of a cardiovascular breakdown at 50 years old.

He abandoned his better half Alison Hawkins and three youngsters — Oliver Shane, Annabelle Hawkins, 13, and 8-year-old Everleigh Hawkins.
